On February 11, 2021, a working meeting of representatives of interested departments was held at the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan to discuss project applications formed by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan for submission to the Green Climate Fund (GCF).
The meeting was attended by the First Deputy Director General of Uzhydromet- B.E. Nishonov and staff of the Green Climate Fund Readiness project for Uzbekistan. The project staff provided information about: the GCF, procedure for preparing project applications for submission to the GCF, the need to select an accredited entity for the development funding proposal and submission to the GCF, the criteria for selecting project proposals by the GCF.
This was followed by presentation of project ideas prepared by the applicants for submission to the Green Climate Fund. The portfolio of projects on innovative "green" technologies includes project applications: to reduce greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere through the construction of biogas plants in agriculture; improving the functioning of irrigation systems with drip irrigation of crops in the face of climate change; technologies and techniques for landscaping the drained day of the Aral Sea, the development of ecosystems and pasture animal husbandry, etc.
Representatives of interested ministries and departments took part in the discussion of project applications, practical comments were given on finalizing project applications according to the criteria of the Green Climate Fund and recommendations on the selection of accredited agencies for the development and implementation of projects.
At the end of the event, the participants were given the "Guidelines for preparing a project proposal to the GCF". The event was constructive, the parties agreed on further assistance in finalizing project applications and selecting accredited entities for project development.
